Growing of a Downfall

This year, 16 short films have been made by the youth of Youth Fusion’s Cinema module. Among those, Growing of a Downfall largely stood out by winning the Panel’s Choice Award as well as the Québec Cinéma Partner Award. This final award will allow young filmmakers to join the Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma (Québec Cinéma Meetings), the biggest festival dedicated to Québec cinema worldwide, thanks to passes.

Designed by graduate students of the Alternative School Le Vitrail as part of their English class, this movie stood out with an original use of lighting, editing and sound, as well as a magnificent artistic direction, which led to a professional result. The movie creates an oppressive atmosphere that allows students to successfully tackle a subject that is close to their hearts: performance anxiety at school.

A big thank you to the panel, but especially to the team that offered this magnificent short film. You are the proof that it is possible to create a great movie with little means when creativity is present!
